What you’ll do
The Royalty Analyst is responsible for processing Licensee royalty reporting, preparing invoices, providing excellent customer service to large corporate accounts, handling complicated questions regarding royalty reporting, billing, and taxes from customers worldwide, and working with large amounts of data to analyze royalty reporting and payment collection trends. All job functions must be completed within set deadlines and with accuracy. In addition, the Royalty Analyst assists management with month-end, quarter-end and year-end financial close activities.
The Royalty Analyst plays an integral role in maintaining and enhancing Licensee customer relationships through professional email correspondence. The Royalty Analyst is well-organized, pays strict attention to detail, strives to meet high expectations, and effectively manages multiple projects and tasks simultaneously. The Royalty Analyst takes initiative and demonstrates willingness and ability to solve complex problems. The Royalty Analyst is highly competent in learning new and updating existing skills to meet the position requirements as they evolve. The Royalty Analyst has a keen business acumen and possesses strong tendency to think critically and analytically.
The Royalty Analyst is expected to work towards collective team goals by serving as a lead in the training of new team members and providing guidance to team members regarding communications to Licensees. Our business is predicated on the licensing agreements with our clients and understanding the methodologies and intricacies of these agreements is essential to the success of the organization. The Royalty Analyst is expected to develop a good understanding of royalty calculation and allocation methods. Strict adherence to internal controls and operational protocols is crucial to our ability to provide the highest level of service and meet our contractual obligations. This hybrid role requires to work onsite at the Greenwood Village office three days per week (Tues/Wed/Thurs). Please only apply if you are located in the Denver Metro Area, as we do not provide relocation or travel assistance for this role.
You will:
- Handle with excellence a large workload consisting of high-volume reporters and difficult accounts
- Manage all aspects and be the main point of contact for the assigned accounts.
- Monitor the day-to-day operations related to Licensee communications, royalty reporting, invoicing, and the collection of payments to ensure proper handling of information in the company’s systems
- Provide guidance to team members regarding communications to be sent to customers according to department guidelines
- Participate in the training path of new team members to gain knowledge, understand processes and drive toward key results of the team and department
- Perform daily tasks efficiently and independently while ensuring adherence and consistency in the application of all established processes and procedures in accordance with SOC 1, SOX, or other requirements
- Make recommendations to management regarding departmental processes, procedures, and internal software systems to ensure that they are effective, efficient and mitigate errors and are properly documented
- Understand royalty calculation and allocation methods and licensing agreements
- Confirm accuracy of royalty calculations by having a strong understanding of different pool royalty calculation and allocation methodologies and implications of patent changes
- Assist in implementing and testing changes to internal software systems
- Respond via email to requests promptly and appropriately, communicate complicated information in a clear and concise manner
- Process, analyze, and manage large amounts of data in Excel and develop strong knowledge of proprietary software applications

Desired background:
- BS degree in Accounting, Finance, Mathematics, Economics or a related subject or equivalent experience preferred
- 2+ years proven relevant work experience preferred
- Demonstrated ability to lead projects and individuals
- Strong Office 365 skills (Outlook, Excel, Teams, SharePoint, etc.)
- Proven experience in quantitative and qualitative data analysis and reporting
- Advanced written and verbal communication skills; strong analytical abilities

- Tuition Reimbursement Program
The Denver Area base salary range for this full-time position is $63,000 – $75,000 and can vary if outside of this location. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, competencies, experience, market demands, internal parity, and relevant education or training.
